Cancer School Continues Its Activities on the International Platform..

A new cancer school organized by Prof. Dr. Mustafa Özdoğan, Head of the Memorial Health Group Antalya Oncology Center, and his colleagues to increase public awareness of cancer, pioneering an initiative in Turkey, was held in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, on 13 May 2014.
The cancer school explains that, as a result of developing technology and numerous studies conducted in recent years, many types of cancer can be treated through early diagnosis. Aiming to raise public awareness of cancer for early diagnosis, the cancer school seeks to instill the understanding that this disease can be prevented through healthy eating, regular exercise and regular medical check-ups.
Continuing to raise awareness for this purpose, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Özdoğan, Head of the Memorial Health Group Antalya Oncology Center, and Prof. Dr. İhsan Karadoğan, Head of the Hematology and Stem Cell Treatment Department, participated as speakers in the “Kazan Cancer School,” organized by the Memorial Health Group Kazan office in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan.
Providing information about cancer and blood cancers at the conference, Hematologist Prof. Dr. İhsan Karadoğan informed participants about basic cancer treatments and bone marrow transplantation. Meanwhile, Medical Oncologist Prof. Dr. Mustafa Özdoğan, who discussed the prevalence of cancer in Tatarstan and around the world, drew attention to the close relationship between smoking and cancer. Providing information about what needs to be known for cancer to be diagnosed at an early stage, Prof. Dr. Özdoğan emphasized that cancer is a preventable disease when diagnosed at an early stage.
The next organization of the cancer school, which aims to reach as many people as possible and explain that cancer is no longer a disease to be feared, thereby achieving its goal, will continue with a meeting on “Innovative Treatments in Cancer,” held in cooperation with Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and Medstar Cancer Center, on 25 May 2014, Sunday. We would like you to know that we will be pleased to see you among us through your participation in this important meeting, where developments in cancer treatment and new treatment methods will be explained.
