The Most Natural and Healthy Way to Prevent Cancer: Exercise!

We have shared many studies highlighting regular exercise for healthy living. The American Association for Cancer Research has added another.
Regular eating and exercise play important roles in preventing many diseases, particularly cancer. This study began from the idea that little was known or researched about how youth exercise affects later life. It examined cancer and other adult diseases in people who made exercise part of life when young. The large Chinese study involved women aged 40-70, approximately 75.000 participants. It assessed all lifestyle factors in youth and adulthood (diet, alcohol, smoking, exercise), menstruation, childbearing, medical history, socioeconomic status and residence, then examined mortality among women exercising in youth and adulthood. Women maintaining normal weight, eating mainly vegetables and fruit, having high socioeconomic status and exercising regularly in both periods had lower cancer and heart disease risks. Deaths from all diseases, particularly cancer, were also lower in middle and older age.
Regular exercise improves immune function and lipid (fat and fat-like substance) profiles, reduces inflammatory factors, minimizes insulin and insulin-like growth factors and lowers hypertension. Exercise in youth also reduces blood pressure and regulates cholesterol and bone density. It reduces fat accumulation, a known risk factor for many cancers. These effects explain why regular exercise beginning in youth reduces later mortality.
Dear friends, small touches in your life can create major changes for lifelong health and allow many years with loved ones. Love yourself and treat yourself well…
